Additional Information: The Sigma Chi Fraternity was founded on June 28, 1855 at Miami (OH) University. Since the Fraternity’s beginning, greats like Drew Brees, Governor Bill Haslam, and Brad Pitt have all joined our brotherhood. Founded at MTSU as Chi Alpha Pi Fraternity on June 16th, 1966, and formally chartered as the Eta Gamma chapter on April 5th, 1970, Sigma Chi has been leaving a legacy of strength and leadership in the Greek Community for over 50 years.

Since January 11, 2000, we’ve been proud to reside at one of the nicest fraternity houses around, the Sigma Chi House, Building No. 5 on MTSU’s very own Greek Row. As a chapter, we strive for involvement and academic accomplishment on campus. Recently, our chapter was honored to receive most outstanding alumni relations, and most outstanding membership education. As a chapter we strive to maintain that brotherly bond that extends beyond college years. Our chapter also prides ourselves on the experience each brother receives, the Sigma Chi experience is like no other, and it should not be tainted. Beyond our internal successes, we have brothers involved in multiple campus organizations ranging from Student Government to Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society to the IFC Executive Committee. Our yearly philanthropic competition benefiting the Huntsman Cancer Institute, Derby Days, is always an enormous success and attracts sororities from all over campus to compete and help us raise money for a worthy cause. And finally, you can always find us in the Grove during game day tailgating – supporting MTSU and our very own Blue Raiders!
